Aptiv Sample Order Fulfillment Privacy Statement

Aptiv PLC (and its group companies, together "Aptiv") will process your personal data in the manner described below.

The kind of personal data we process about you

When you buy or request sample orders from our e-store, we process the following personal data about you:

  • full name;
  • account user name;
  • account password;
  • login credentials;
  • work/postal/email addresses;
  • work telephone/cell number and;
  • tokenized credit card information

How is your personal data collected

We collect your personal data when you register to buy or request sample orders from our e-store and make any relevant payments.

How we use your personal data

We use your personal data for the following purposes:

  • sample order fulfillment – to process your sample order and ship it to your address;
  • communicate with you in relation to your sample order;
  • process payment for the sample order (where payment is required);
  • market our relevant products or services that might be of interest to you (where we have your prior consent to do so).

The legal basis on which we process your personal data

We process your personal data on the basis of your consent.

Data sharing

We will share your data with trusted third-party service providers who will do the order fulfillment and accept payment on our behalf.

Transferring your personal data outside the EU

We may transfer the personal data we collect about you outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Whenever this happens, we have put in place the relevant Standard Contractual Clauses to ensure that any transfers of your personal data outside of the EEA are adequately protected.

Data retention

We will retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which we collected it. We will keep your order fulfilment data for 10 years and where we have your consent for product/service marketing etc, we will retain your data for 25 months from the date of your last active engagement.

Aptiv is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal data, and has implemented security measures appropriate to the risks presented, to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, copying, modification, disclosure, destruction and alteration.

Under certain circumstances, by law you have the following rights:

Consent and your Right to Revoke

We will process your information based on your consent, which is voluntary and can be withdrawn by you at any time. If you withdraw your consent, then your data will not be used for new alerts and will be deleted from our database. The consent to process data remains valid until the time that consent is withdrawn.

To withdraw your consent, click the unsubscribe option, available in the marketing email received from us.

Right of access: You can request information at any time as to how and which personal data concerning you will be used by us, for what purposes the data will be processed, where the data originated from, to which recipients the data may be transferred and how long such data will be stored by us.

Right of rectification: If you find that personal data concerning you is inaccurate, you may request rectification of such data at any time. If, in your opinion, the data is incomplete, you may also request that it be supplemented.

Right to deletion: If you are of the opinion that the use of your personal data is no longer necessary or takes place without sufficient legal basis or is unlawful for other reasons, you can request the deletion of this data.

Right to limit the use of data: Instead of deleting data, you can also request a restriction on the use of data in certain circumstances.

Right of objection: You have the right to object to the processing of your data in certain circumstances.

You will not have to pay a fee to access your personal information (or to exercise any of the other rights). However, we may charge a reasonable fee if your request for access is clearly unfounded or excessive. Alternatively, we may refuse to comply with the request in such circumstances.

We may need to request specific information from you to help us confirm your identity and ensure your right to access the information (or to exercise any of your other rights). This is another appropriate security measure to ensure that personal information is not disclosed to any person who has no right to receive it.

Automated decision making:

Automated decision-making takes place when an electronic system uses personal information to make a decision without human intervention. You will not be subject to decisions that will have a significant impact on you based solely on automated decision-making, unless we have a lawful basis for doing so and we have notified you.

Rights to complain to a regulatory authority:
